You should complete this form, if you

will be under 18 when entering Australia to begin a course at UNSW
will be under 18 when beginning a course at UNSW
need approval of accommodation and welfare arrangements in order to meet Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) student visa requirements

Additional documents required to be submitted with this form

Copy of student’s passport (photo and information page)
Copy of parents’ identification (e.g. passport, or driver’s licence) showing name, photo and signature. Please provide a translation if document is not in English
Copy of signed Parent/Legal Guardian Declaration Form – you will need to print out the form and sign before uploading
Copy of signed Student Declaration Form - you will need to print out the form and sign before uploading
Copy of email confirmation from your accommodation provider

Fees

The Under 18 Care Arrangement fee consists of a CAAW fee $150.00 and the Care Program fee $8.00 per day
Notification of payment to UNSW is automatic. You do not need to notify UNSW of your payment.

Under 18 students with a UNSW Care Arrangement are responsible for following some very important university rules to ensure their safety and wellbeing and to meet the conditions of their visa. UNSW may cancel a student’s CAAW if the student does not comply with the regulations provided in the UNSW Under 18 Care Arrangement Procedures, this may result in the student’s visa being cancelled.

OR
Do not need a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) in order to meet Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) student visa requirements

Additional Documents Required to be attached to this form

Copy of student’s passport (photo and information page)
Copy of parents’ Identification (e.g. passport, or driver’s licence) showing name, photo and signature. Please provide a translation if document is not in English
Copy of signed Parent/Legal Guardian Declaration Form – you will need to print out the form and sign before uploading
Copy of signed Student Declaration Form - you will need to print out the form and sign before uploading

The above documents will need to be compressed in to a single zip file and uploaded at the bottom of the form.

Fees

The Under 18 Care Program fee is $8.00 per day

Under 18 International Students Living with an Approved Parent/Legal Guardian or Relative Notification Form

You should complete this form if you are an international student at UNSW staying in Australia with a parent, a legal guardian or a relative until you turn 18. The nominated parent/legal guardian or relative must have an appropriate visa to remain in Australia and must satisfy Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) requirements related to your accommodation and welfare arrangements as part of your application for a student visa.

Students enrolling in the UNSW Under 18 Care Program are not required to complete this form.

CHANGING YOUR ARRANGEMENTS

If your accommodation and welfare arrangements change please notify UNSW Student Life and Learning by email under18@unsw.edu.au. If you do not maintain adequate accommodation and welfare arrangements during your stay in Australia your student visa may be cancelled.
